Can you re-use pickling solution?
« on: June 02, 2012, 06:22:04 pm »
I have just finished a really large jar of pickled pears and a smaller one of pickled beans. The pickling fluid still tastes great and it seems a shame to throw it away. Can I re-use it?

I know you can (theoretically) re-use curing brine for pork, providing you reboil, add more salt and strain it - can't see that it would be much different for pickle  :-\
But hopefully someone will come along and just confirm that for you, cos I don't want to be responsible for anyone getting ill !  ;)

We always re-use the salt from making bacon and also the vinegar from pickled onions.
