Yesterday I watched one of my ex-batts hop onto the gate and then up onto the roof of the stable block. She spent a good 10 minutes up there enjoying the sun and then fluttered down . So I've given up trying to fence them in completely (don't want to clip wings). We keep the fence top very wobbly and (famous last words) have not had an overnight fox attack in the run - but the foxes come anytime during the day .
