My ewe's face is going bald
« on: May 20, 2012, 11:09:45 pm »
My 4 tooth ewe had quads recently which she reared by herself very successfully for 4 weeks til her teats got sore and I took 2 off (8 weeks ago) and she is just finishing weaning her last 2 lambs. I have a large assortment of lick buckets in the paddock from high mag licks to ewe and lamb licks to garlic licks as well as a himalayan salt lick. I also fed her separately ewe nuts whilst she was lactating and hay ad lib. She has been wormed, Haptavac'd and lice sprayed. No lice evident and no worms. Her fleece hasn't gone quickly...just slowly thinned right out all over...off of face and ears. She is eating and drinking fine. She is happy and friendly. Hopefully the shearer is to come very soon to get those thick fleeces off. She is a commercial Mule x Lleyn. What can this be??? ANy help and advice would be gratefully received.
