We have a GOS Sow and we are looking for a Boar either to buy or loan. Can anyone help, we are based near Jedburgh in the Scottish borders. We are not fussy what breed but we have been advised not to cross rare breeds as the meat could be very fatty. Any suggestions or help are much appreciated. Oink Oink.

Iam sure Happy Hippy, Robert or Oaklands(among others) will be along shortly to point you in the right direction, or if not you could possible use AI(From PIC or Deerpak).
Hello all from OZ.
PS I have been trying to get a copy of "Practcal Pigs" but have been unsuccessful at present to obtain it. Look forward to seeing Happy Hippys article in it. ;) :D

Hi oink  , I have sent you a pm.  Just to add to it here thought, that we used to live in Jed and had Tamworths - we used to feed them with the spent veg from Millers veg suppliers near Howdenburn School in return for some sausages (at the end).
registered soay, castlemilk moorit  and north ronaldsay sheep, pygmy goats, steinbacher geese, muscovy ducks, various hens, lots of visiting mallards, a naughty border collie, a puss and a couple of guinea pigs
