our first boer kids - and ones all red!

we have kids!

We are still very new to goat keeping, we bought a male 75% boer (Rocky) in October, to put to our three boer x girls, but didn't hold out much hope as at only nine months old, we thought he might need a ladder, but he did it (as we only recently worked out!)

Friday morning, Jessie gave birth to three very cute female goats, we cant believe how lively they are for only being a few days old....

and just now out in the kidding pen, her sister gave girth to another three goats, i've just come in for a cuppa because all this childbirth is very exhausting!!

The surprising thing is that one of the goats is all red! not sure if that is unusual but it certainly surprised us, ive had a quick look and he is a boy, we were going to band all the boys but are now considering keeping him entire, any suggestions?

heres a pic of one of our first kids
