Life continues.
« on: April 18, 2009, 12:46:05 pm »
Well six weeks down the line OH is in local hospital awaiting rehab, the service stinks, but least said about that the better. I had a bit of a run in with the ward sister and doctor about removing his catheter the day before yesterday as I felt it was time, but they were throwing all sorts of excuses as to why if should be left in. My interpretation was it creates more work for them with it out as some one has to be there to help him to the loo as he is very unsteady on his feet. It's no wonder as he has been in bed for six weeks with no physio on his legs to keep them working, but receives physio on his chest where he had a mini traccy in.
This morning he had his first bath in 6 weeks, he was over the moon, not surprising as this is a man that has either a bath or shower every day.

Other things will take time as his memory is playing tricks on him, he can't hear too well and his left eye is not very bright at the moment.

Other than that he is alive and I thank my lucky stars that he is.

Wonderful news, and each day another small improvement.  Home soon then things will improve faster.

I'm so glad things are moving forward positively. I'm sure things will only continue to get better.
