Our ladies group (mostly French so its sometimes difficult to know why I am doing what) has volunteered to make a touchy feely sculpture for a children's reception area.  It was superb, with a long metal bar at its centre, which had been bolted to a base on wheels.  However we added a woven support often seen in posh flower arrangements, ours was around 5 foot tall, it exceeded the width of the door when finished which no one had forseen.  Suffice it to say that the ceiling was damaged in our attempts to manouevre it, and finally we all left having decided that OH would go in to day with appropriate tools to dismantle it enough to get it through the door and into its new home, then would remantle it.  He is "really pleased" to have been volunteered.

Some of the words I heard on Thursday were definitely not top of the list in polite company.  Still its all an experience.
