TAS shop - when and what
« on: May 06, 2012, 07:34:32 pm »
When is the TAS shop making an appearance, and what goodies can we expect from it?
registered soay, castlemilk moorit  and north ronaldsay sheep, pygmy goats, steinbacher geese, muscovy ducks, various hens, lots of visiting mallards, a naughty border collie, a puss and a couple of guinea pigs

It'll be ready later this year. We will offer a range of products for smallholders, with telephone and email support  and advice, secure online (and telephone) ordering, and post-sales service.

We're not turning TAS into a shop - the articles, diary, forum, online shows and all the other bits that make up the site will remain our focus and continue to be developed. The shop fits in naturally with it all - we're asked so often what is needed and should be bought that we thought we would try to meet the demand that's out there.  :)

More details soon hopefully.

Not sure if it's a goer with all the regulations etc but what about an online shop where people search for what they need (eggs, ham, half sheep, veg etc) and add their postcode.  All of the members on here could put their products that they'd like to sell on the website and also add their postcode, and you could take a percentage of all the sales.  Maybe a good way of connecting customers with small holders who aren't big enough for their own website and advertising.

All the TAS members could effectively be a giant co-op.

Just a though...

Something similar is coming - a geographic based marketplace.
