I just bought Valerie Porter's book 'Cows for the smallholder' on recommendation read on here recently (was it Sally?) 2nd hand through Amazon £5 - mint condition, great value - £14.95 when published 1988 - looks an interesting read but cannot get started on it yet as am at work. It is amazing to see the list of titles on different country-side subjects that she has written - she must have been a workaholic writer as well as farmer - not sure if she is still on the go as have not managed to do much research on google yet! Are you reading this Valerie?!!
