And Finally...
« on: April 27, 2012, 04:01:29 pm »
Oh YES. Exclaimed in Churchill dog voice NOT Meg Ryan. Our final girl who is ALWAYS our final girl, Jolly, has lambed. Jumping up and down, yes YES YES!
Really freaky second delivery. Big ball following waterbag with what looked like lardy fat all over it, felt very wrong when I 'went in'. OH says he's experienced the same stuff in other of our older ewes. It was yucky :P . Wasn't quite sure what was going to come out. I could feel no tail, no legs, nose, anything definable. Baby kind of came out back first and balled up but bloody hell it was alive. Expected major deformity and dead so a major bonus. Good solid ram lamb and ewe lamb with big enough mushes to get a hold of Jolly's, by now, GIANT teats and suckling very well.
Bottle of wine tonight I think. Been too tired to risk alcohol as well over last few weeks. Yes yes YES.

Wow well done Amanda, hope you are enjoying that wine  ;D.  Blimey back first, can they actually come out like that??  I've got one last stubborn ewe who is still hanging on, hope she has it soon!

Brucklay - HA. First timer hey. They have still inherent tendencies to tease you you know? Good luck Brucklay, hope it's at a sociable hour and smooth and straightforward for you.
Gill -  wouldn't have believed it until I saw it. Hope I never see it again. Scared the hell out of me  :o Same goodluck etc for your last one.
The wine was lovely and much more effective than I remember it!

18 ewes in lamb.  But we could not change the crayon on the (hired) ram as he was so flighty (probably not a good sign), so not sure how long we will be lambing for.   I can feel lamb brain descending though and I must remember to feed children and speak to husband from time to time too......

Glad you enjoyed your night of freedom!
