has anyone on here used a broody cage to break the cycle of a broody hen? Did it work? Any other ideas? I have 5 broodies at the moment and a reducing egg production!

Need to have wire floore feed and drink 3 or 4 days sorted.you should get breeds that dont go broodey /highbreds etc.

Yes, had to resort to this last year as some of my peekins would probably have starved themselves rather than give up sitting  ::

We used a metal cage (small pet carrier) and popped it on some house bricks to get a flow of cold air underneath the hens. Obviously food and water as normal. It only took a few days. We did pop the cage outside in the day (shaded and covered in case of rain) and vrought in at night.
