Hi There,

I live in west lothian council who have informed me they have no council allotments, does anyone know of any alternative ways to get my hands on an allotment anywhere in central scotland?

To be fair anywhere in central scotland is pretty wet. Ha ha! Willing to travel within 40miles possibly a little more if the right spot comes up :).
I'm in bathgate and apparently the council have no allotments - I tried them already :(

i think you asked the wrong lackey winchburgh has allotments bridgend has big allotments run by the council but is owned by lord rosebery   i am sure i have seen others as well      the big fear if you try for a plot of land is the unsightliness that can develop and the possibility of trying to get development :farmer:

Try contacting the Scottish Allotment Gardeners Society - SAGS - google them. I'm sure they will be able to help. If there are none in your area and there is sufficient demand, your local authority is legally obliged to act. Carnoustie got its first allotments five years ago.

Yeah apparently there is demand and its "under discussion" but I can see rumours of this from 2009.
I think I might just do that and drive out to them and see if I can speak to someone. Is the weekend best to find people?
