Thought we may have seen the last of the snow here in central scotland but it is quite heavy here just now  , they talk about the ozone layer and what we have to do to obide by some of the stupid rules  , it seems to me it has been fcuked up for many years, nearly the middle of april and the swollows are due soon, what are the seasons coming too

Much as snow is lovely to look at its a pain in the backside when you have things to do.  I am glad to say we woke up to a lovely sunny morning here in Wales.  April shows are expected today but I can't complain about that as its been very dry recently.

No snow here this morning, Lillian, but boy has it been raining!   Last night the burn was a trickle, this morning it's swimmable in.     I don't believe all that global warming stuff - it ain't effing warm here.

It pissed of rain here all yesterday, was raining this morning at half six and by 9am it was snowing, global warming, what a load of crap aint it. Will let you all know when the swollows arrive, they maybe have about turned and went back to Africa.

Snows pelting down here at the moment too and my black sheep and lambs have gone white.  But it often snows in April, global climate change or not.  If it snows in July then you can justifiably moan

Yup - my dad had to take me to school in the tractor when I was sitting highers in June because the school minibus couldn't get through the snow 
Was snowing a bit here this morning, but has since turned to rain  I really hate the grey, miserableness that is rain - at least snow makes everything look tidy & bright  Fingers (and toes) crossed for a drier year than last

I guess that we have to put up with whatever we get for the area we choose to live in - snow, weeks of sub zero temperatures  or heat and drought.

The key point is that the seasons are so unpredictable and we get extreme weather. Unfortunately this unstable weather is a sign of global warming and we can expect more of it - living on the land with animals will get harder.

After the "big freeze" and difficulties of getting water and feed to animals we have had a drought - same problem with water except i have been in a T shirt for the last month ( not today though).

global warming my arse  the extremes in weather is nothing compared to what it used to be 1962/63   was more severe than the winter 2 years ago  whole community's were without water because it froze in the pipes and before that was 1947 huge drifts that were dug out by hand whole community's cut off all those nicephotos of Victorian industrialisation  taken on a sunday when you could see the factory's without the smoke shroud
London used to have smog for days at a time
government funded men in white coats if they did not harp on about  global warming they would be on the dole and end there seminars world wide and free junkets to places i have only seen pictures off

I'm a non-believer too. As Robert says, weather goes in cycles, the two winters he mentions 'recently' being good examples. Further in the past it's been cold enough have bonfires on the ice on the Thames and warm enough for Britain to have malaria and vineyards.

Snow settling here again yesterday, though now it's gone again  and it was very windy.

Nice and sunny (if cold) in Fife today, which I'm grateful for as our lambs are hatching outdoors and don't want the bambinos to get cold!
