I want chickens this week
« on: April 02, 2012, 10:21:05 am »
The hen house is now nicely painted, it looks sooo good I might even move in myself.  ;D

I am off this afternoon to get some wire to dig in the bottom and some bedding and food. All thats missing is the chickens.

I am thinking of somewhere between 3 and 6, maybe some Warrens as they are good layers and then anything from RIR to Welshsummers and Cuckoo Marans.

Anyone know of any pol's close'ish to us?  we are near Talley, sort of in between Llandeilo and Llandovery.

thanks
Sally

Smallholder show at Builth Wells in May.

Sunday is a huge poultry sale. Lots of other dealers selling birds, both days, but beware.

Hundreds of birds and eggs on offer.
Traditional Utility Breed Hatching Eggs sent next day delivery. Pure bred Llyen Sheep.

Thanks Castle Farm,
I am itching to get started so not sure I can wait until May. ;D

I will definitely be at the show though

Sally, have you checked the breeders pages in Country Smallholder?  I think you can read them online if you can't get the mag near you.  I'd be the same as you - moved at last, henhouse ready, want choox NOW!  :D
