What is this?

Its in the back paddock below a row of poplars. Any ideas?

It might be cuckoo paint. if it is it will flower April to May with a lilly type flower.

Isn't cuckoo pint carnivorous?
Smells like rotting meat to attract flies?

Seem to remember it growing in the woods near my primary school, and teacher taking us out to sniff it!!

Yes that's what it is.. I remember seeing the memorable berries last year when we bought the property. Just been out to dig it up and pot it up somewhere as it will look nice in some corner of the garden.

Well I never,they say you learn something every day,since I can remember here~ and this morning,whilst going down to open up I keep thinking to myself-(ok talking),what is that smell??? just like rotting meat! I have hoards of the cuckoo pint in the hedgerows!

We found a dead rat under the floorboards of a shed in the winter,smells just like that,yukkk :-\

Its a weed it spreads like stink and the only cure is round-up we are plagued with the sodding stuff its even got into our polytunnel so beware.
