This is a great site for free knitting patterns.  If you join (costs nothing) they will send you a daily email with loads of patterns.

I've been getting emails from them since I registered.  Sounds obvious, but have you checked your spam file?

This website looks great! I just got carried away, and bought some gorgeous wool from here: http://muddycarrot.com/listing/Stone+Grey+Kerry+Hill+Blend/607/#.UBKfqbRfGRo but I'm still a novice- in terms of yarn thickness etc, what should I best make from it?!

Lady Serendip,
The yarn you have bought looks lovely.  I am currently spinning myself some yarn in a similar colour.
Your yarn is Aran weight so, depending on how much you have bought, an aran jumper would look lovely but may be a bit ambitious if you are a novice. If you haven't got enough wool or want something easier then a hat or scarf or both or even a snood.
