Should I worm again
« on: March 06, 2012, 08:17:53 pm »
I plan to move all my sheep around in the next week or so, all the ewes (pregnant and non-pregnant) will be going together, and my 3 resident boys (ram and 2 wethers) will be put in with my 2 new rams.  I've had all the sheep for some time now and they are in various groups in different fields.

They were all wormed with Cydectin on 8th Feb; should I re-worm them all again before I put them together?  My first pregnant ewes are due to lamb from 1 April onwards.  I'm just a bit wary of over-worming them with the risk of building up resistance - I've wormed them more than I ever have before due to the problems I've had this year.

I wouldn't.

I would suggest getting some worm counts done to see if you have a problem rather than blanket worming.
