Kune Kune pigs need good homes - Devon
« on: March 05, 2012, 02:06:36 pm »
Hello all, new user here. We have been keeping Kunes for several years - excellent for keeping your grass down and grubbing up the weeds. Due to change in circumstances having to scale back a little, have 1 adult boar, 2 adult gilts, 1 adult sow, and 4 piglets (12 weeks), all looking for good homes, preferably as pets, all have lovely natures, and are better behaved than our labrador! Any offers considered. Devon/Cornwall borders.

Hello and welcome.

Are the Kunes registered?

Hello Julie
Yes all of the adults are Kune Kune Society registered, so that's the breeding pair (boar and sow) and the two gilts who have become used to the boar but not put to the boar as yet.The piglets are not registered. (obviously all are registered with Animal Welfare DEFRA etc).
Thanks for your enquiry.

Julie
After talking this through with my wife, we would be more than happy to let them go to a good home such as yours as pets for no cost. If you wanted the adult pigs as pets to breed with, they are all registered, and you could use the offspring as predigrees or as meat as you see fit, you would have 1 proven boar and 1 proven sow plus her two as yet un-introduced sisters. The boar and the girls obviously come from different blood lines, so no breeding issues. This would give you breeding stock, and some lovely pets.

If you are also interested in the piglets, the two boars are also available for no cost (less worried around pets or meat).

Kind Regards
Carnehan
