There is a farm cottage about a mile from
us called

'Worlds End Farm'

Always make me smile when I pass it, cos it's not far off
the truth up here!

Got any good names near you?

one of our cats is called Bimbo  (Bim, Bimmy) from the old JIm Reeves song...
He's the fourth of the family to have the honour of the name, due my f-i-l's inability to remember new names!

We used to live in Tyttenhanger (and it was pronounced the rude way). Anglo saxon meaning Tydda's hanging ridge !

And I live quite near 'Lost' which is always having its nameplate stolen.

We have a hamlet called Twatt. They tried to change the name of the graveyard but failed! My friend lives near the signpost to Twatt and she gets really annoyed with tourists having their picture taken next to the arrow!

there is of coarse Knockin neer Shrewsbury with it's famous Knockin shop.

Village Shop - 'The Knockin Shop'The village has a thriving village shop which is something of a rarity nowadays. It was once featured on television because of its sign "The Knockin Shop" and provides the Village with a convenient outlet for all day to day needs, including a Post Office.

Honestly! Who would do a thing like that?  ;D (Hmmm, I wonder if I canstill find the photo?  ::))

There's a Faraway farm near us, which I've always liked.

I also remember a conversation at our sailing club about the attributes required for the perfect crew. "Oh, that's easy, it's the farm just outside Drymen" said one old chap. He could tell by our blank faces that we hadn't got a clue what he meant. "Lednabra" he explained!  ;D

Near where I used to live in Aberdeenshire, there was Baldyquash, Folla Rule, and there were two villages called after a brother and sister - Rothiemay and Rothienorman

I used to live near a village called Pratt's Bottom.

There's also an area in Dorset called Itchy Bottom.

I nearly had an address of "Hogs Pits Bottom".  I would never have moved  :D
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
