Yes, kept a 16h I.D mare on this acres for thirteen years. She was a good doer. With hay and feed.
sadly pasted away about 1 year ago.
My thoughts are now  Shetland or mini horse, if i can find one with a good temperament.
That's the way the cookie crumbles.

Bear in mind that if you have two equines as company for each other you could potentially have problems when you try to separate them - ie, when you want to ride!  You don't have enough land (or would probably even want) three, perhaps a couple of sheep might be okay - although you'd have to be careful they didn't get kicked/trampled and would have to have a separate area where they can escape to.

The horses may be okay, but it's worth bearing in mind they can get very bonded to each other.

Goats and donkeys have been companions for racehorses for centaries but some horses do like to attack new things appearing in their territory so put an escape area in if you fo down that route until the newcommer is accepted into the "herd"
Yes,some Donkeys carry lugworm as do all unwormed eqjuines...I presume you worm yours so what's the problem?

That's true my pony was a demon for chasing baby lambs  we never put in lamb ewes with him cause if they lambed he would become over excited and try to kill the lambs.

Trouble is with three horses you can't take two out and some get stressed if taken out alone.  So you need FOUR, but that's silly!

i quite like donkeys but thot they needed alot more care and attention than a hardy pony. if youv a stable and plenty of time itd be ok aslong as u worm them all for lungworms etc
