Are you taking him to the Stallion show at the end of the month? It's a long trek, but my pal Fiona is taking her TB Bollin Terry down, has 2 mares booked already and should get more, he#'s a stunner and so so gentle.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

Not starting showing until May as my joints cannot cope with the cold alas. Archie is very special to me, I loved him from the 2nd he was born and knew he was going to be a stunner. Being a late foal ( 27th august ) I could not show him until he was a 3 year old. That day he was judged by Mrs Proven who is a top Shetland judge and breeds fab ponies also. She gave him the Junior Champioshipthat day and told me he was a very smart looking boy well worth keeping entire. I was delighted at her comments as it was nice to hear the views of such an experienced judge. As I no longer breed myself I hope that other studs will be interested on using him, time will tell. :)

Good news, both Archie and Vinnie are now booked for the coming breeding season, so looking forward to seeing their foals next year. I still have a black 2 year old colt and a skewbald yearling which will be shown this year. have not decided yet wither to keep entire or geld will depend on how they do in the show ring. Getting them through their stallion vetting is expensive, plus finding the right stud that I would trust my boys with. Rory the black gelding will be broken this year to ride and hopefully drive, most of the ground work I can do myself but need someone to back and school him ready for the show ring. Friend will do that job for me and then I have to decided if i sell him or keep him at home. Shetlands do like to be working and made a fuss off. I hate selling as the ponies are part of the family and people do not always tell the truth when they are buying so a worry. My grandaughter is keen to show him again over the summer but she will be 12 years old in April and soon may not be as keen when she gets into boyfriends. :horse:
