Poultry feed prices - let's keep track
« on: January 16, 2012, 05:47:29 pm »
Just an idea, how about a rolling thread so we can keep track of how much we're all paying for feed? My hope is that this will build up to be a useful reference source in time. If nothing else, we'll be able to look back in five years time and say "only £10 a bag!, those were the days eh?"  ;)

So, no discussion on this thread (plenty of room for that elsewhere), just your location, feed type bought, quantity and amount paid.

I'll start:

Stirling (Carrs Billington).
Standard layers pellets, 25kg, £9.45 ea
Mixed corn, 25kg, £9.98 ea
Whole wheat, 25kg, £7.88 ea

Russells Country Store, Larbert, Falkirk 05/03/2012

Whole Wheat, 25kg, £7.72
Spillers Layers Pellets 20kg, £7.40
Mixed Poultry Grit, 25kg, £6.88

Boquhan Stores (nr Kippen, Stirlingshire), 25/02/2012:

Whole Wheat, 25kg, £8.79
Layers Pellets 20kg, £8.45

So roughly 14% more expensive at Boquhan than in Larbert.
