Pics of our goats!

Hoping that you good people can tell us what breeds we have as we have had several people tell us different things!!

That's if I've managed to attach pics properly!!

number one (Anna?) is a Toggenburg.
The white one looks Sanaan ... will try and enlarge it abit more on my laptop, hang on!

Ahhh thankyou very much she is a darling, never thought id say this but im quite in love with her she will follow us around the holding all day! Thanks for taking the time to help us.

The bottom pic - the togg (?toggX) is the spitting image of my Reggie!! He is out of a togg mum and ?boer dad  ;D

Stumpy looks like my old George so much.  He was a Saanen but possibly crossed with something else too as his hair was longer than our female saanens.  He was a rescue so we weren't quite sure.  Thanks for posting the lovely pics.  :)

Yes I would think the other replies are fairly accurate. However it is well possible that one or two generations back you have another swiss breed in the mix, especially  for your white goat, as white is a fairly dominant colour.

Are these registered with the British Goat society (or were they at some stage)? As to their age you should find out if looking at their teeth, pretty much the same as sheep.

Anke, i really wouldnt know if they were ever registered they only came with their ear tags and movement papers is there a way from their tag numbers to find out?

Pm me their tag numbers and I can quickly check on the Grassroots system. If they are on the BGS register you can contact then the BGS for further info.

I would need both herd number and individual number.

pictures are a bit small but I wonder if Anna has floppy ears (esp in last pic) bit of Nubian there?

Penninehillbilly, the goat in the last pic isnt Anna she doesnt have droopy ears it is Max hes about twice the size of Anna and as you say does have droopy ears, its sounding like he is some sort of heniz57 bless him!! lol
