Opinions?
« on: January 12, 2012, 10:23:23 am »
This is a thread from our Club Forum.  The Club has tried to get the RSPCA and local Council to shut this person down over the last 10 years and so far nothing has happened.  What do you all think.

The conditions look horrible and both pups and adults have that 'hangdog' expression.  They should be joyful bundles of fluff but look far from that to me.
I hope the RSPCA can do something.

The photographs are upsetting but don't necessarily convey the dirt and poor conditions in which these pups are obviously living.  And dirt can be cleaned up before officials come to call.  Can you find someone who has acquired a pup at four weeks from this person?  Seems to me that might be the way to go to stop this abuse.  And yes you are right it is abuse that needs to be stopped.  Any friendly reporters who might help?  I am afraid I am one of the people who believe the RSPCA won't get involved without a photo opportunity for them.

Absolutey disgusting how some folk treat animals. I have been in a few breeders houses with the RSPCA inspectors and emptied a few !!! but some are crafty and very borderline. They keep their dogs with bedding, food and water even though they are in a manky house.  Some even have two properties one were they are well kept and the other a pit. We went in one to empty it of cats and after working our way through the piles of rubbish we found a room where their granny lived! A little old lady kept in squalor. It is sickening to see what goes on behind closed doors. Perhaps now she is made public folk will stop buying from her and put her out of business, but unfortunately she probably sells via internet with other names so folk dont see the conditions they are kept in. Selling animals over the internet should be banned, it is ok to advertise but all this just' posting 'of animals when ordered should be illegal. When I advertise even a egg to hatch for meat birds I make them collect so I know them, there croft and ask how they kill as I dont like even the thought of a potential little chick being subject to some of the methods and conditions I hear about even up here.  Good luck with it all and hope you do shame her out of business ,but you might send her underground and the authorities may think she is borderline but at least they know where she is.

Horrible. I can't believe that no authority can do something about this.

The link to our forum is now on Facebook.  Perhaps that might bring the RSPCA into it.  I have had a reply from them

"Thank you for contacting the RSPCA with your concerns.

We have forwarded the link you have sent us to our Correspondence Team, who will be able to look into this further for you."

It is absolutely disgusting. I can't believe how the dogs can live in such conditions and the breeder is getting away with it.
I have just put up a post about having my Goldie hip, elbow and eyes tested before thinking about breeding from her to make sure that some potential buyer of her pups doesn't have any health problems, but I can just visualise what problems could arise from this breeders blatant quest for money before anything else.

She is on epupz.  The wife of our Chairman asked them to put up the correct description  of our breed so prospective buyers would know to expect a real live wire of a dog, and what the breed needed - they are different to dogs like retrievers and spaniels. - they didn't reply.  Champdogs and many other sites changed the description and put up our breed standard. But NOT Epupz.  I wouldn't go near them for a puppy - EVER!

It does not matter what they are called Rosemary , there are many sites that advertise animals of all kinds . It is how they are actually sold that is the problem not the advertising. Some folk sell a bad animal and are never heard of again, some pretend to be one offs but breeders under different names, some put fake pictures up as said on here about chickens. There is a puppy farm advertising in Shetland all the time as one offs and different names. The buyers are just as much to blame as the sellers, some sort of regulation is needed about it all but I know that is impossible. Meanwhile the breeders are supplying the demand. I know of a bloke that is banned again and again but can still buy animals over the internet cause they dont know him . He even pretended to be a woman when he tried to buy ducks off me!!!

Have just heard that due to the publicity on numerous forums and Facebook postings the dogs have now been removed from this woman's premises. I don't think I have ever seen such fast action.  Just goes to show that being in the  right is upheld sometimes!
