As an aside - I was wondering if you have primitive rare breeds and keep them on better ground than they were 'traditionally' given and lamb em indoors etc...

Would this improvement in grazing treatment make culling for poor doers harder? Ought you to lamb them outdoors as an indoor lamber wouldn't have survived in a 'traditional' flock?

Hi Fleecewife, yes its a bell around his neck, welcome to europe alot of people here put bells on their sheep.....
It has to be said there are some advantages with being able to tuck a sheep under one arm although getting on your knees for things can be a bit of a bind, grooming tables come in very handy for vet visits!! 

The ouessants horns should be a single spiral and somewhat mouflon like, within in the breed it is one thing that is very variable, there is a danger that they can become a walking set of horns one reason why this ram is not its breeders top choice as he could be a little more solid to balance out those horns

Val the breeder is one of the top breeders IMO, not everyone shows or indeed shows everything,
