Organic Calcium?
« on: March 08, 2009, 10:56:41 pm »
We have just acquired our first chickens and prefer to do things as organically as possible. My partner is looking to source organic calcium - not sourced from abbatoir by-products. Does anyone have any advice or know of where to buy this product?  Many thanks!

oystershell grit comes to mind. Any feed merchant should be able to order it for you. :&>

Erm, Calcium is a mineral, not an organism. Crushed oystershell iis what most of us use, but I can't see how oysters could carry a soil association accreditation.

There is no problem in the world that cannot be fixed by the judicious application of the appropriate hammer.

Depends if the chucks/eggs are for own use or if they are to be sold as organic. Check the other threads re Soil Association and get in touch with them. :&>
