Hi From Devon

Hi everyone

Just inherited 4 sandy black and brown pigs and two kune kune's. The kune's kune's are pets and great fun the sandy's are for the freezer  :pig:

I'm looking forward to posting and hopefully getting lots of advice.

Regards

Greg & Nettie

Hi from an ex-Devonian  now in north Cumbria with, amongst other things, an Oxford Sandy and Black sow currently making a great job of rearing her first litter.  (Saddleback crosses.  Cute, adventurous, fast-growing little stonkers.)

Hi guys,

Thanks for the warm welcome...

In-between Crediton and Tiverton...

We started off a few years ago with chickens, then moved onto ducks... Now have the pigs!! We originally were going to have two for the freezer at Christmas but have ended up with 4 and the two kune's because of a friend moving to Australia who had the kune's and two other piggies..

We have a large plot of land that wasn't doing anything just getting busy with weeds and causing me bother with looking after, so Nettie and I decided that it would be good to have a go at the pig rearing. Also it's good that my children will realise that pork doesn't always come wrapped in plastic from Tescos!!!

The next plan will be some Wiltshire Long Horn sheep ... Again, for the freezer, so looking forward to advice and being active on the forum.

Well Greg,  I'm in Burrington, 25 mins from Crediton and 5 mins from Chulmleigh.

I have Wiltshire Horn sheep.  This is my second year with them.   I cant tell you what the meat tastes like yet, but we have some ready to go to market soon.

Just a thought.  You said you have two children.  It's half term right.  I have 2 freebie tickets given to me by The Big Sheep, (theme park) being as I sold two of my finest ram lambs to them.  We don't have time to use them.  If you'd like them, give me a shout, or they'll go to waste.
