I'm halfway up my second one.  I can never follow a pattern religiously so I have done mine in K2P2 rib and have made a little bit for my thumbs, as that is the sorest joint from all my spinning etc.
I love them  :) :)

I love it when a pattern develops. I think sometimes we just read a pattern to give us ideas and then run from our own minds with the rest.

I think this pattern is good for beginners to follow and the more seasoned knitter to play with..

Ellisr you are really kind to give your pattern to us but I know what you mean about family.  I've only been here a short while but it does feel like a big family.  ;D

a - I'm glad someone else sometimes reads things wrong the first time,  ;D
and
b - could I have a copy as well ellisr? mum taught me to knit but I never did master 'casting on', but if it keeps fingers warm for when I milk the goats:o, I'm sure they will appreciate it  ;D

(I love this family as well  )

what a brilliant idea - I have just finished plying up some wool I have spun and would love a copy of the pattern to knit some for my OH.  I am in France and with the winterv fast approaching need an excuse to sit in front of the log burner and still feel I am doing something useful.   ;) ;)

thanks so much
I have plied a bobbin of black ouessant fleece with a white fleece to make a tweed effect so the mittens should look good.  I also have some angora / mohair that I spun so might make some for myself.  You have inspired me to start knitting again and that takes some doing.  I think because it is a small project  I will be able to do it quickly whereas a long bum length jumper takes a tad longer.  Thanks again - Jan.
