Ideas for using Shallots
« on: March 03, 2009, 12:11:18 pm »
I still have loads of red onions and shallots left over from last summer.  These will probably sprout before I've used them in day-to-day cooking.  I'll thinking of making an onion marmalade with the onions but does anyone have any interesting recipes for the shallots?

I've got a recipe for pickled shallots; it's good but not very exciting.

Thanks Rosemary but I don't think I will get more than three pickled onions in the jars I have, they are all small ones.  I'll do some more googling for recipes or else they will have to be chopped up and used with the onions in the marmalade/chutney.

Put a notice on your garden gate and sell them?
