i am truly gutted, as a guitarist he was unsurpassed, i grew up with his music and am devestated that i never got to see him play

rest in peace bert, the world is much reduced without you.

I only heard Bert once or twice but he was 'different'. His songs were personal and his performance was his own.

It was an era of folk/rock which upset some people but it got more people interested in the folk genre. Pentangle, Steel Eye Span, and others led to groups like Crosby, Stills, Nash (and Young!) so it was an interesting era.

Loved Pentangle, sad to have lost Bert.
Julia xxx 3 acres and a day job!!!! Chickens, Turkeys, Sheep, Pigs, Veggies and Homebrew. Husband, son, pets, chutney and music.
