cat knocked down
« on: October 05, 2011, 12:06:28 am »
my beautiful long haired ginger and white year old cat was killed on our lane tonight.  She had it coming to be honest, as she seemed to enjoy sitting in the lane watching for me walking up to the gate.  Most people were kind enough to slow down, or go past her .....probably one of the boy racers, who I have seen driving at high speeds.  Its a single track lane, with passing places.

I had fed the cats, and she was there then.  I had gone to milk the goats, and she must have been waiting for the goats milk to arrive, and obviously in her spot on the lane.......at least someone, maybe another car driver, had lifted her to the side of the lane, and my head torch picked her up, as it was dark when I came back.

I have been lucky with my cats, and only lost one in all the years I have had cats there.   I am worried about the two ginger females now, although they go on the lane, they do not sit there .....but thats not to say they will not be knocked over.

OH Roxy, I'm so sorry.  Its so sad and hurts so much, we've had 3 killed in 6 months on our road and I know what it feels like to find them as you drive home  :(  Only saving grace is that someone was thoughtful enough to move her for you.
sending you lots of love today xxxx

Thank you, everyone for your kind words.

I keep looking for the ginger girl ....she would curl up in the corner of the pony's stable, and this morning, the straw was  still  flattened in "her" corner.

Oh Roxy, I'm so sorry for you. I've lost 3 cats in 2 years on the road past our house and I know only too well the awful feeling when you find one that has been killed. Have a hug!
