odd behaviour from a chick?
« on: September 20, 2011, 10:41:49 pm »
I have a four week old chick who has started making weird motions with its head/neck..... I initially thought it was trying to crow, then I thought it had something stuck in its throat but it seems quite happy and is lively and eating normally, but it continues to do this weird thing every couple of minutes or so.

Mum and the other chicks are showing no similar signs and the older hens are all fine.

Anyone got any ideas?

Gape worm possibly.

Is it shaking its head?
Chicken nutter extraordinaire.

Or it may have a bit of straw or similar stuck in it's throat.
