Is this a record?
« on: February 25, 2009, 06:30:33 pm »
Today in between mucking out a deep litter stable I sowed some sweet pea seeds in seed compost/ little plastic flower pots in the polytunnel, this would have been at approx 10.30am. At 5.30pm I went out to put chickens away and just shut up the polytunnel, I had 3 shoots!! one was about half an inch tall!!! and the other 2 just poking through. When I planted the seeds there was no growth showing at all just round hard seeds, is this a record?  :P

Wow! I thought I'd done well this week because my sweet pea seeds were up in 3 days!
Well done/

OMG I am a fraud, liar and everything else that goes with it and I hang my head in shame!! My only defense is that last night I was exhausted, upon entering the polytunnel this morning I realised that the sweep peas I had got so excited about were not in fact the ones planted yesterday, the ones planted yesterday were still sat on my potting bench. not half an inch of growth in 7 hours at all!! I am so sorry, call it over excitement, call it noviceness or just call me plain bloody stupid! Or even just had a damn good laugh at my expense, in the meantime I will crawl into a henhouse and hang my head in shame................... off I go..........going now............. bye bye .x :'(

'Course you can - I have sunflower shoots after 3 days! And I haven't been on the vino yet, AND No1 Son was here this afternoon and he saw them too! And that was after we had cleaned the chicken shed and put the pop-hole in and new perches
