With the nights drawing in now, Im putting the boys to bed earlier each night, now its at about 8.30 our time, 7.30 UK time. Soon, it will be getting dark before 5, so what I want to know is do I have bedtime for the boys when it gets dark, or keep it to a certain time. Obviously with chooks, they take themselves as soon as it starts to get dark, but its not so with the boys.

I tend to put mine into the byre when it gets dark but leave the light on. I go back out and put Ellie (milker) in her own pen and switch out the light just as I'm going to bed, so that's usually much the same time whatever time of year.

Yes same here, lights on after milking and I go down about 9-ish and fill up with hay/grass again, check water buckets, turn radio and lights off.

I milk at 6.30am, so lights are on - depending on time of year.
