Retro fitting back boilers
« on: August 17, 2011, 02:57:24 pm »
I've recently discovered that you can retro-fit a wee back boiler to a Morso Squirrel and it would give enough for a couple of people having a shower in the morning.  We have 2 squirrels - one in the dining room and one in the living room - does anyone know:  a) how easy are they to fit retrospectively and b) can you have 2 running, one for showers, one for kitchen usage for example and c) are they any good at all or would I be wasting £240 (thereby) for each one?
Thanks for reading.

Have seen these for ~£50 on eBay but needs a magnetic drill to cut holes in cast iron fires - also not easy for used stoves it is claimed.

thanks for that, we didn't go for it in the end as the connection/boiler set up etc would cost quite a bit plus a different cylinder to cope with the excessive heated water that these things give - it was only going to save us around £300 a year in hot water so wasn't worth it really,  many thanks for reply
