Price of Damsons?!
« on: August 30, 2011, 09:15:20 am »

Morning

I wish to sell some of my Damsons which I have an excess of,already made 30lbs of jam and jelly, can't keep up with them! Does anyone know what the going rate is or what a fair price per kilo is? We do not need to buy any fruit as we grow all of our own so I really do not know what they are selling for.I had seen a reasonably local house selling off their plums, but £2.50 for 4 plums seems a little high to me!(And they sold out :o !)

No idea. I've never seen them sold round here.

I suggest you just pick what seems right to you and see how it goes. Just pick an amount that doesn't need much change - like not £1.65  ;D

Do a small bag for £1 and see how they go as they aren't as popular as plums these days

We usually sell ours at £3/kg, and also turn them into Damson gin! :yum:
