here is a link to a very good basic book on farming ( the old way ) . It gives very clear information on all the basics, loads of old pictures to go with it (funny I have lots of the old tools in the pics) I think it is a very good FREE online introduction to farming the old way .

what a lovely old book ... have had a quick scan through and read the bit on drainage .. will go back and have a proper look through later
great pictures of the old tools etc
