Fainting Goats

I think it's cruel to keep on scaring them so that they do this.

Yes, seen this before and thought it was cruel, possibly even to breed them. :(

I think it's rotten to breed them like this too.

We had a bad experience with a goat who managed to get fast in a fence almost as soon as we got her home. By the time we'd worked her free (and no doubt with the added stress of being handled by strangers) she collapsed - thought I'd killed her  :o But she came round and in retrospect it was more like these fainting goats. So I wonder if it's a tendency in all goats under extreme stress and these fainting ones have just been selected to be 'highly strung'.

Anyway, I still think it's rotten, they must be permanently stressed and on edge - not a nice thing to breed into any animal  >:(

This can happen the other way round too, our goats chase the missus until she collapses in a heap.....as you can see they are so badly treated that they won't come near us....

Brilliant! Any chance of getting my sheep to do the same, lambing, shearing and foot trimming would be so very much easier to organise. Get rid of my working dogs and buy an umbrella instead!!!
Not sure this is doing these goats any harm, they looked in great form, perhaps too fat!
It's always worse for someone else, so get your moaning done before they start using up all the available symathy!
