Chicken Coop Building

Hello,
I am in the process of building a chicken coop with an external nesting box which is attached to the side, and I was wondering if the nesting box is to be positioned above or below the perch. :chook:

Hi T&B
Usually below the perch. Ours, and others I've seen, have nesting boxes a few inches higher than the floor of the house.  Usually reckon one box to every 3 or 4 birds.  How many hens have you got?

Thanks for the advice, I can now finish off the coop.

I have 6 at present, but thinking about increasing it to 8 shortly.

Cheers
Paul
