Intact male llama for sale/swap
« on: August 16, 2011, 02:17:24 pm »
4 years old, brown and white.  Been used for  guarding poultry - not lost a single hen (have 80 plus) in the last three years, so Robbie is a good guard.  Bought with the intention of breeding, but unfortunately, due to uncertainties as to buying the farm etc.  plans were put on hold.  Now managing on much less land, so land is needed for ponies and goats.

Robbie needs to go to an experienced llama home, where he can run with females. Obviously used to poultry, also goats, sheep etc.  Used to my ponies riding past the field.

£450  or would consider swap for a quiet, ride and drive pony (Shetland upwards) or donkey!!

Will try and put a pic on, but struggle with resizing them.

North Derbyshire/Cheshire border.

How halter trained is he? Is he used to other llamas? How regularly has he been handled? Is he registered with the BLS? What sort of pedigree does he have? Has his fighting teeth been removed?

I ask as we have a 12 year old stud that is coming to the end of his working life, and our rising stud is only 2, so we could look at buying yours as a fill in for a few years!

We don't let our males run with the girls, the males: youngsters, gelded and our stud all live together well away from the girls and the stud is walked to meet the girl of our choice. He is then walked back, so the haltering and handling is very important to us, as is the fighting teeth if he is living with other males!

Thanks

Kevin
