No luck with Spinach so far this year!

Hi all  :wave:

I have ad a dire year with my spinach,it just wishes to bolt when it is just 2-3 inches in height! last year,we had heaps of tall green lush Spinach,I have no idea what is wrong this year,any ideas?

spinach likes shorter days so try another sowing now, also not too much sun and plenty of water.

Also grow some perpetual beet alongside just in case, I use it as spinach

I use chards or perpetual, seems to fare better than annual spinach. Also just ordered tree spinach seeds - I'm quite excited to see how it will do. :&>

mine's been savaged by slugs ... and snails ... and the goat!
I prefer perpetual too, and even the leaves of fodder beet (no real difference is there?!)

Funny weather all round I reckon, lots of plants are confused :D

Talking of funny weather ive got a cowslip flowering at the moment poor confused plant!!!
