[Crofter]

We sat with a neighbours pig yesterday as she was farrowing and he had to work.  Went down at noon and she just had the first one as I arrived.  Jane and I alternated shifts and she had another at 2 pm!  The vet called in to check her that evening, and said that very small litters have the longest labour, but that she could not feel any more piglets in there so that was probably it.
Angus, our neighbour, called this morning to say that she had just had another one!

20 hours labour to have just 3 piglets!  I think that's got to be some kind of record.

By the way, mother and 2 black and one white piglet are all doing fine.
