The above link is where I started.  I read and read and read until I had enough info to get started.  It took me some time to decide on what kind of still I would get my hubby to build.  We chose a very primitive potstill rather than a column.  Made it out of a 4 quart pot, a mixing bowl and copper of course.

Authorities generally don't bother you if they don't know you exist.  So:
-I don't sell the stuff
-I don't make great quantities
-I don't rub anyone's nose in the fact that I occasionally run a batch.

It's more of a curiosity than anything.  I refer to the shine as fingernail polish remover.  It is wicked!!!

Our field has a wonderful hedgerow full of Sloes, earlier this week I mentioned to a friend that I was going to do some sloe gin for Xmas ::) she very nicely offered to make me the gin lol not sure how it will turn out but will let you know
How long did you say it would take me to dig this 5 acres with my spade?
