what a pleasure!
« on: July 14, 2011, 08:39:17 pm »
i hand sheared our borerays today for the first time and what a pleasure they were! after 6 years of shearing hebrideans (mainly tupps/ rams) our borerays were such light work. their fleeces were like cutting silk and came off so well. its the first time iv ever enjoyed shearing!! these sheep were so calm and easy to flip, turn and handle. i know hebrideans arent a big breed but i do find the rams heavy.
so if anyone is considering sheep, do remember the borerays, iv got 6 to an acre of not very great grass and they are in so good condition. and iv had to put our cows on too to eat the grass down, so i think our acre could support 10 borerays which would be good.
just had to share that with u all, as it was an enjoyable mornings work.
enjoy the lovely weather!  :sheep:

For all enquiries about Borerays please email:   [email protected]  Julie is the secretary of the Soay and Boreray Sheep Society and keeps a large Boreray flock herself.  She will be able to put you in contact with breeders close to you, or may be able to deliver down your way. :sheep:
