Bear Grylls..
« on: July 04, 2011, 09:24:20 pm »
Anyone watching Bear Grylls tonight on Discovery channel?

This episode was filmed around where we live and to say they're taking a few liberties is a bit of an under-statement. :)

What do you mean?

Sadly - we don't get Discovery Channel.

I find Bear Grylls really irritating  >:(

Things like how he's living rough when in fact he stayed every night in a hotel and ate restaurant food, conveniently finding a dead seal when they'd been asking locally if someone could 'supply' one. Loads of stuff like that.

Gives us all something to laugh about in the pub :)

He is famous for making out he's sleeping in the wild, trecking great distances, living off the land and so on when in fact he is delivered to the filming site by helicopter from his nice comfy hotel each morning.  Even his name sounds phony but his programmes are good for a laugh - spotting the nice clean hair etc  ::)

the production company are open about the fact some of the items (all) are staged for added TV value.

doesn't mean its not good TV.
