one chick a bit slower than the others
« on: June 29, 2011, 12:22:53 pm »
Have hatched 6 mixed chicks bantam/cross now aged 2weeks.  One of the chicks has, from the beginning, seemed a bit slow.  she gets left behind a bit, and seems to pant.  The 6 chicks have 2 experienced "mums" so are very well looked after.  I thought she/he wouldn't survive the 1st night, but here she is, 2wks later, still going.
Any ideas what is wrong?  Has anyone had this?  Should I expect her to keel over at any time?   ???
