what should i be charging?
« on: June 19, 2011, 10:05:17 pm »
we bought a logic paddock sweeper a couple of years ago.  secondhand but hardly used.  then we hardly used it and have now decided to sell it.

it's the kind that goes on the bakc of a quad bike or car or ride on.

no idea about prices - think we paid about £2k from memory but cant find any receipts.

anyone any ideas?

see what's on sale on ebay? should give you an idea. Also if there are lots for sale - a lower price may help with a quick sale? Depends how quick you need to get rid of it and if you have already spent the money you are planning to get...

anke, we live on a smallholding...OF COURSE i have already spent the money  ;) ;) ;)

seriously though, i did check ebay but not very helpful and what i could find wasnt recent and prices seem to have varied wildly for what appears to be very similar in terms of age and condition.....

Oh good, its not just me then....

I would put it on ebay for a fairly high price and see how it goes. Local paper may also have an ads section, and our farm merchants seem to have an ever growing board with "for sale" notices on. You can always go down - someone may love to haggle!

one of my recent friends wants to buy it.  thats kind of why i'm stuck with pricing it fairly.  ebay would be ideal but not really an option due to this

Ask her how much she will pay, if it appears too low then suggest a better price.  I know you have no real idea of how much, but you will probably have a feel of how little you will take!  Good luck.  Hope it sells for a good price.

Isn't there a website for agricultural machinery the same as for used cars which gives you the prices to buy or sell at?
