caravan on the shores of Loch Fyne needs renovation
« on: June 11, 2011, 08:15:44 am »
Do you know anyone who might like this.....

Handyman, handywoman or handycouple needed to renovate the 6 berth caravan in our field on the shores of Loch Fyne.
They could stay in the caravan for free and would fix up the caravan, we would pay for materials - it needs a new skylight, the plumbing needs sorting out as does the heater, it needs redecorated, decking repaired / replaced the surrounding garden needs done and fencing put in.
It's 1.5 hours from Glasgow, if you or anyone you know might be interested please contact us.

Have a look at the HelpX website, or put an ad on it, should be ideal.

are you looking to have this done in return for accomadation or are you prepared to pay something for the work as it sounds like quite a lot of time would be required to do all that lot!

although renovation is required would you describe the caravan as habitable currently?  you may gather i may be interested in an extended busmans holiday as i can repair just about anything :-)

and decking/fencing gardens are my trade...

Hi bloomer
Thanks for your reply, whereabouts are you?
We had envisaged someone from Glasgow or similar distance who would enjoy coming at weekends and doing the work a bit at a time (maybe 3-4 hours a day) in return for free accommodation.
Right now it is clean and dry (except under the skylight), the electricity is fine and there is a chemical loo available and a gas heater.
We have not looked too closely to see what is needed to get the cooker working (we can provide a microwave). There was water plummed in which I'm sure would not take too much to fix, there is a toilet and shower which I have no idea how hard to get working.
To be honest we were hoping not to pay wages as I don't know if it's worth it. The decking and fencing would not be first on the agenda.

OK bloomer, sorry if it's not for you - possibly I am hoping for too much.
It would be great if it were done in 2 weeks and I think it easily could be if all the neccessary materials were here at the start, unfortunately I don't know just what we need.
I still think it could be done with just 3-4 hours work a day which is, I think, (please let me know if I'm wrong) an ok exchange for staying here. I have old ?kayak?canoos, push bikes and fishing rod if that helps!
