Hi from North Notts
« on: June 10, 2011, 12:05:02 am »
Hi everyone, I live near Newark and have 5 acres. I currently have horses, dogs and cats but after a couple of hard years sorting out the land and housing, I'm now ready to take on a couple of piglets and a few chickens. I would also love to have some bees eventually and a turkey or 2 and possibly some pygmy goats. I can see how this could get addictive!  ;D

Looking forward to getting to know you all better and hoping you wont mind the odd stupid question  ::)

Hello and welcome!!

Ask questions, someone will know the answer :D

I have always wanted bees - my uncle used to keep them in the farm garden, and thats what made me interested.

Welcome Rebecca.  I'm in north Cumbria, commercial beef & sheep, working collies, smallholding on the side with Jersey house cow, pig (hopefully in pig so not alone too much longer), choox, native ponies.

No such thing as a stupid question, always better to ask before than wish you had asked afterwards.

Wonderful, knowledgeable and generous people on here - you'll be glad you found this site!
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing

Hi welcome from Brittany.  There are no stupid questions.  You have certainly come to the right site for pigs, chickens and bees.  Pour yourself a glass of wine, take the phone off the hook, lock the doors, and spend an afternoon browsing.  Loads of information from really knowledgeable people with lots of humour and interest.
