All Surrey beekeepers received an email today telling them to feed their bees as there is no nectar about due to the dry conditions.  Quite shocking to see that there are no stores in so many hives - thought it was just mine!  Has anyone else had a similar email from their local association?

It has rained twice in two months here Beewytched!  my Mum lives in Kent and she hasn't had ANY rain since February!

Although it is very dry here in the Fens of East Anglia, I have not had to feed. In fact I took of 100lb of honey off one hive the other evening and they still have another 50lb super, could not take it as I could not carry three supers at the time!

But thanks for the "heads-up", I shall monitor the situation, in case the nectar flow slows significantly.

FEBRUARY  has that ever been heard of before?  I lived my (very) early formative years in Sussex & remember deep snow, rain, showers, sunshine - all the "proper" seasonal weathers.  Has this been building for a while or is this a one-off?

I don't know how big your supers are? a standard super holds about 25lbs?

It's same every year here in France we only get a spring flow. It gets very dry here when the Rape has finished we have a huge gap until the sunflowers start.
